Art folio board

Art folio board

The highlight theme is Instagram with a twist of Zodiac style. I'm focusing on the zodiac signs , personalty: each zodiac sign has a different personal emotions. Zodiac has different meanings too, make-up,fashion. I want to put this in photographs and try to express each to most  zodiacs. I'm probably  not going to use all. And I  also want to put a twist of Instagram style. E.g the love hearts , comments , sharing, The type of groups on Instagram like make up artist , different types of fashion, the love of animals, music etc. The style of medium is B&W photograph . But I am going to do Photoshop like Barbara Kruger.  And a little bit of abstract.
The visual Symbols are the zodiac signs. The most used zodiac is probably Aquarius because that's mine zodiac sign. but I also like Libra and Leo styles.

My artist model both stylistic and conceptual. J. Howard Miller and Alfred Eiesnstaedt  are the art models that i'm looking at right now. Alfred Eiesnstaedt is the most "go to" artist model because he make realistic photo, My 3rd is Barbara Kruger and shes a "go to"model too ,  because she  uses real photograph and Photoshop them. I want to use Photoshop too. Barbara uses real life problems and put them into a picture with  a short sentences, and J Howard Miller uses real life problems too. Alfred Eiesnstaedt  uses real life photos. what I'm getting here is I want too use real values ,real people, animals in my picture, even still they're Photo-shopped. I know zodiac is not real per-say. But same people believe in them and I think its cool a concept and theme. Instagram is a really cool way to show off your pictures and/or what you created. I don't want to make it Instagram themed but i do want a hint of it. People use Instagram to showoff zodiac personalty and fashion , make up etc. That can help me with my folio board.
zodiac fashion
zodiac make up
I'm not planning on making the beauty side of things,  too out there because I'm no that good at make up but I'm good enough to to the basics.

Barbara Kruger and Alfred Eiesnstaedt's photograph works well with my Ideas to put on the board. what works well is how they took it. I like it when Alfred catcher the realism and Barbara Photoshopped the meaning behind the message of the person. That linked in with my though of using Zodiac, Each Zodiac has a meaning/message. If it doesn't work I will try to find a other way to represent Zodiac like , the colours , photoshop the definition on my photo's.

"we can do it " J. Howard miller

" we can do it''

by J. Howard Miller
 May 29 1943 , 55.88cm x 43.18cm
poster
Image result for we can do it
This work was made produced by J. Howard Miller . Miller grew up during the WW2  and he was inspired by the works of Norman Rockwell. Miller used the passion and creative towards this poster "we can do it ". This poster was a propaganda in WW2 for the Westing house electrics , it was used to promote feminism
The success of the war effort  depended on the women who took over the factors jobs. J. Howard Miller create this poster for the women efforts and for the changing of the changing perspective of women. "we can do it " changed the public message about women. J.Howard Miller  represent the symbol of female patriotism.

This poster was a advertisement for women working in Westing house electrics  helping to build and or make war equipment, etc. The poster would be everywhere in the states of America. This poster was made in California , where J. Howard Miller made the poster.

With her  pouted lips ,high cheek bones , sturdy eyed look and a saucy curl falling right from her polka dotted bandanna, showing off her arm to represent strong power toward women. Rosie the riveter is known for the most attentive war propaganda poster of WW2. Her expression made me feel like I can do anything. I feel like wearing the bandanna make this photo more dominant looking and the war uniform  make it more powerful. I guess that's what they wore in the factory .

The bright Yellow background show off the bright colours off the red and blue. I like it because its not dark and its show off in public eye. The uniform is a war factory shirt. The shading , to me helps with the message of dominant. The deep blue and light blue indicates the shadow, and the shadow helps with the arms too, because her arm looks more forewomen. She influence the women to stray strong in the factors for the men at war.

Her emotion/expression is showing the tough side of  women. To me , this means if she was smiling and putting up her arm  it wouldn't  be as dominate looking and the poster would turn into "rejoicing delight women  helping the men poster" and the women wouldn't get the respect that they have now in 2018 than 1940s and wouldn't get the respect for the war efforts . I think this poster benefit women rights therefore its shows us women can do more than clean ,cook , looking after children etc.
